Scottish alcohol sales drop as minimum price kicks in

Scots bought less alcohol in 2018 than any year since records began in the early 1990s, according to a new report.  A minimum price per unit of alcohol was introduced on 1 May last year in a bid to tackle Scotland's drink culture.  The authors of the report said it was not possible to quantify the impact but "early indicators were encouraging".
